3 YOF was sleeping in child bunk bed when top right corner where her head was laying collapsed. Frame snapped & child's head got wedged between mattress and bed frame. Service person screwed wood back together and caused it to split.

  • Incident Description: (12/13/2012) The consumer stated that her three year old was sleeping on the bed. The top right corner where her head was laying collapsed. The consumer stated that the frame snapped. The consumer stated that her child's head got wedged between the mattress and the bed frame. The consumer stated that her child was not injured. (12/17/20120 The consumer stated that she called Raymour & Flanigan. They advised the consumer that they would have to send someone out to look at the bed and assess it. (12/20/2012) A service person from the store came out to assess the damage. The consumer stated that the service person screwed the wood back together and caused it to split. The consumer stated that after the service person split the wood, he glued it back together. The consumer stated that since her mother made the purchase, she is calling the store about the repair. The consumer stated that the bed is made for children and it should not break. It could collapse under her while she is sleeping. What if it had been the top to collapse onto the bottom child?
