    Incident Description: Purchased new light bulbs at a local home improvement store. Opened package and observed exposed wires at junction of the glass bulb and the metal base of the bulb.

    (3/1/2012) Issue has been forwarded to Manufacturing. Consumer will be contacted and asked to either describe the problem and/or return the lamp for analysis. Replacement product will be offered at no charge.
    (3/8/2012) Manufacturing analyzed the issue and explained to the customer that a welded wire on the outside of the lamp base is standard production practice which as been used for years by many lamp manufacturers and does not pose a hazard to the user of the product.
