On April 11,2009, we purchased a La-Z-Boy glider-recliner and received delivery on May 30, 2009. The chair began squeaking in November 2009. The squeaking became progressively louder and began leaving a black dust that permanently stained our carpet. In mid-May 2010, when the squeaking became unbearable, I telephoned the store where we had purchased the chair. The salesman who answered the telephone refused to give me the telephone number for the service center, said this sometimes happens, and told me to put candle wax where it was squeaking. My husband looked at the chair and could not ascertain where the salesman thought we should put the wax. So, in early June 2010, I telephoned the store again. This time a different salesman provided me with the telephone number for the service center. When I spoke with the service center, they told me that the chair was just out of warranty and I would have to pay to have the chair repaired and for delivery. They also told me the permanent black dust on my carpet was metal dust and would not come out. The delivery service picked the chair up on June 25, 2010, and returned the repaired chair on July 2, 2010.

The night of December 6, 2010, while rocking my baby I heard a loud noise and nearly flipped over in the chair. We discovered that the head of a bolt had been sheared off. The next day, I telephoned the service center. They advised me that the warranty on the repair had expired and I would be responsible for the cost fo the repair and delivery. After speaking with the Customer Service Headquarters in Michigan, I was told that I would only need to pay for the chair to be delivered. The delivery service picked up the chair on December 10, 2010, and returned it on December 17, 2010. I was advised that the service center had completely replaced the internal components of the chair.

On May 31, 2011, while my husband was rocking our toddler, we heard another loud sound. After inspecting the chair, we found that once again, the head of a bolt had been sheared off. I believe that this chair is unsafe and that it could cause an injury.
