The consumer said that her 15 month old, 21 lbs., (ht. unknown) gets stuck in between the slats on the headboard or footboard of the crib. The son is at the age where he stands up and attempts to get out of the crib. Recently, the consumer found her son's left thigh wedged in between the side slats of the crib. The consumer was able to free her son, but it was extremely difficult.

The consumer estimates that her son's leg gets stuck in between the slats about 25% of the time. The consumer has discontinued use of the crib. She noted that during one incident, her son got his leg stuck so far between the slats that a part of his butt was in between the slats. The consumer pointed out that the slats on her crib are flexible enough to bend and she believes that this allows him to become wedged in further.

(6/28/11) The consumer was watching television today and she found that her crib was included in recall CAP# 10-134, but the mfr. is out of business. The consumer noted that the retailer she purchased the crib from is also out of business.

The rails on the headboard and footboard are believed to be too flexible.
