The consumer says that she purchased product and put furniture in her daughter's room. They immediately noticed a strong odor emitting from the furniture. The consumer says that her daughter started feeling sick.. She said around December of 2009 her daughter started complaining about back pain and headaches. In March she developed stomach problems. Her daughter did not eat much and constantly over slept. The consumer says that around April 2010 she developed a bruise on her ankle for no reason. The consumer took her doctor to the doctor on April 14th 2010 and the doctor noticed something was wrong with her kidney. They took her to get some blood work done and her daughter was diagnosed with leukemia. The consumer removed the bedroom set after visiting a different retailer and 3 employees told her that it sounded like formaldehyde. In January 2011 the consumer removed the furniture set from her daughter's room and placed it in the garage. The consumer says that her daughter is starting to feel and her doctor has given her an 85% chance to live. the consumer says that blood also comes from her daughter's mouth when she is brushing her teeth. Blood has also come up from her back and sweats heavily in the middle of the night. The consumer says that her health issues have increased dramatically since they have had this furniture. The consumer says that her daughter never experienced any health issues prior to getting the bedroom set. APML Leukemia is the type that she was diagnosed with. The consumer would like CPSC to test the furniture for formaldehyde. St. Luke's Hospital performed blood work. The consumer has a copy of the blood work that was done. Her Doctor's name is [REDACTED] who diagnosed her with Leukemia. The consumer says that there was no label on any of the bedroom furniture warning of formaldehyde.
