Caller's one year old daughter was crying, when mother went to check on her she found that her left leg was stuck up to her knee and she couldn't free her.

She called 911 but it seemed that they were taking a long time, caller held her baby while her sister kicked the slats, broke them and freed the baby because her leg was turning purple.

Once the caller and her sister freed the baby, caller (mother) checked her baby out and found that her left upper leg and left knee in the front and the back was swollen, was purple, red and swollen and is still very sensitive leading the mother to take her to the doctors today or tomorrow.
Baby in June 2011 weighed 24lbs and is in high 30
Baby is now sleeping in her playpen.

Caller contacted the manufacturer on Friday, November 11, 2011, received an email from Dorel Asia/Jardine advising her that the warranty was over and that there was nothing the company could do for her.

Caller states that this is a lifetime crib and she would think that meant a lifetime warranty.

Caller purchased this crib in 2005 and would like a replacement crib of a different model.

Thank you for posting your comments. We take these matters very seriously and appreciate consumer feedback. We regret that you have encountered this issue, but it is important to note that this crib has been fully tested by a 3rd-party testing laboratory and meets all regulations, including the requirement for slat spacing. All cribs on the market will have very similar spacing, and as with all cribs that have openings created by slat spacing, there is always a small risk the legs going through the opening. We appreciate the opportunity to have discussed the matter with you and able to offer assistance.
