While boiling a pot of water on the high setting for about five minutes he went to remove the pot with his right hand and felt a very strong electric shock. He powered the unit in the on off position.

Within a few seconds later a glass dish came in contact with the hot plate and there was a zap which also caused the circuit breaker to flip.

The firm was contacted on 1/20/2012 and a report was filed. The consume indicated that he would return the product.

The failure occurred within his first attempt of using it.
