We have an LG LRE30755ST that we purchased in May of 2007. It was manufactured in April of 2007. On April 6, 2012, while cooking dinner in the oven, a loud humming noise started and we noticed there was a fire inside the oven. I immediately grabbed the kids and ran, and my husband shut the oven down & grabbed the extinguisher. After it cooled down, it appears some sort of wiring between the warming drawer & the bottom of the oven caused the fire and it burned a hole through the bottom of the oven. I contacted LG about this, even though it was out of the 1 yr warranty, and the only thing they had to offer was to send out a technician to perform a diagnostic test for $89.  I told her there was nothing to diagnose, there is a HOLE burned in the bottom of my oven, it needs to be replaced. The agent simply said "I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.". We are furious as this is a very dangerous product, and have seen several other reports of the exact same circumstances, yet the product has not been recalled, simply/conveniently "discontinued". If we had been in another room, this could have been a major fire and done damage to our home.  LG needs to be held accountable for their poor products.

Still have the Oven currently. Contacted the manufacturer but they were not willing to do anything except send someone, at a cost to me, out to "diagnose" the unit.
