I have 2 of the Evenflo convertible high chairs and withing 1 week of setting them up, the tray started detaching from the chair and twice my son fell from the high chair ( a drop of about 3 1/2-4 feet). He had some bumps and bruises, but nothing super serious (although I think we were just lucky) since then I have been using them on the floor without the table. The trays still come off occasionally but since they are only about 8-10 inches off the floor it isn't a long way to fall.

I am still using it, only I converted it so the chair sits on the floor. I contacted the manufacturer and they wanted to refund my money and take the product back. I have recently heard that they are now recalling it and sending out replacement parts.

Comment from Evenflo Company, Inc. 6/20/2012
The consumer reported to Evenflo and then the CPSC that her child fell from his Convertible High Chair when the tray detached. Convertible High Chairs with model numbers beginning with “2911” were the subject of a recall announced June 5, 2012, for tray detachment issues like the one described by this consumer. Evenflo appreciates that this consumer contacted the company directly with valuable feedback on its products. Evenflo has already provided this consumer an approved remedy kit for both of her high chairs to address tray detachment issues. Consumers who own an Evenflo Convertible High Chair with a “2911” model number and are not aware of the June 2012 tray recall should contact Evenflo at 1-800-233-5921 or on the web at safety.evenflo.com to register for a replacement tray and supplemental instructions.
