Caller's daughter opened the refrigerator approximately one week ago, sometime around June 11th, 2012 and saw smoke coming from around the light fixture.
Amount of smoke was moderate but the smell of burning plastic was heavy.

The light bulbs became so hot they melted the plastic around the lights.

Caller contacted LG immediately, connected with service who advised to disconnect the light bulbs due to high intensity light bulbs heating, not cooling down and causing fire.

Service came to home June 12th, 2012 replaced defective light bulbs and the piece in the refrigerator that did not turn off which caused the burning/melting.
Service was not from manufacturer due to their statements that they couldn't get anywhere for repairs for two weeks so callers contacted their own repair shop.

Caller never received a recall notice.
Caller called manufacturer three times and was not satisfied with their service.

Caller would like the public made aware and would like for this model to be added to recall.
