Not only did my nephew of 11 months fall out and bang his head, my grand-daughter of 4 months did as well. Even restrained, the highchair is unsafe. The tray would detach and then the whole thing would tip forward.

Comment from Evenflo Company, Inc. 8/23/2012
This consumer reported that her nephew and granddaughter have both used the Evenflo® Convertible High Chair and have fallen from the unit. Although the consumer claims that the tray detached and the unit then tipped over, the high chair meets the stability requirements of the ASTM high chair safety standard. Similarly, the internal restraint meets the retention requirements of that standard (as verified by an independent testing laboratory) so it is unlikely that the restraint was being properly used at the time of the alleged falls.

Convertible high chairs with model numbers beginning with “2911” were the subject of a recall announced on June 5, 2012, for tray detachment issues like the one described by this consumer. This consumer provided limited contact information and Evenflo is attempting to reach her to ensure she receives the approved remedy kit of a replacement tray. The remedy kit is available to all consumers who have registered their Convertible high chairs with the company. Evenflo encourages consumers to register for an approved remedy kit at 800-233-5921 or on the internet at
