We bought our 8 year old daughter a "Disco ball Tinker Bell lamp" for Christmas. She has been using it for about 2 weeks at bed time. We shut it off after she falls asleep. Tonight i noticed she was up after we sent her to bed because she claimed the lamp got really bright. When i went in there to look i noticed it smelled like something was burning , so i unplug the lamp and look at the bulb which is black. I take it into my garage to inspect it not finding anything obviously wrong, so i then plug it in to see and after about 5 seconds its sparks and trips the breaker, and shocks me. Again i smell burning, which smelt wires at this point. I am furious at this point !!! Had i not gone into my daughters room to get her to go to bed would this have caused a fire??? It was next to her bed!!! I look at the bulb after i unplugged it AGAIN because it freaked me out and now the bulb is darker with specks of something in it. This is obviously a huge hazard. I want answers. I want this fixed before a child is injured or killed. I will continue to hold onto this device for any further needs to solve this issue.
