(09/16/2015) The consumer stated that her daughter was strapped into the seat at the table. As she finished the food, she smacked the table and flipped the table over. The stand that the table is on hit the child in her face between her eyes. The child was bleeding and the space between her eyes was cut to the bone.

The consumer called EMS, who came and took the child to University Hospital. Ten stitches were required to close the cut.

This consumer has not contacted Evenflo regarding this incident and also provided no contact information in this CPSC report. Accordingly, Evenflo is unable to obtain further information about this unique incident. The company has never received a similar report in connection with the Convertible high chair, and has been selling this product since 2011. The Convertible is a multi-use product, including a full-size, traditional high chair, which can be “converted” into either a infant/toddler MyTime™ chair with a tray or the MyTime Chair with table. A photo is provided with this response which shows these different use modes. In addition, this product is designed and tested to meet or exceed all regulatory safety requirements, including ASTM 404 (high chairs) and ASTM 2613 (children’s chair), which both have requirements for stability and tipover.
