I put my then almost 5-month old baby in his Davinci Kalani 4-in -1 convertible crib for a nap. About 10 minutes later he started screaming so I went in to check on him and his leg had gotten stuck between the slats on the crib. He could not get himself out because his thigh was wedged in the gap. This happened several times over the next few months including when he could roll over and stand up in hopes he could free himself. This was not the case. One incident he had both of his legs stuck pointing out the front of the crib between the slats. I had to stop putting him in it. He had some red marks on his leg but nothing more serious. Had I not heard him though he could have easily broken his leg or cut off the circulation. I'm not blaming the crib company because I know they conform to spacing standards. I'm asking the standards be re-evaluated. I've read a lot of people have had problems with their infants getting stuck, not just in this model crib but several others. Or, since crib liners are not recommended, maybe a suggestion or article on the web site how to prevent this. I imagine many people now have cribs they will not use until toddler stage.
