Portfolio Chandelier was installed in home we purchased. It was hanging in two story foyer as designed. One morning my wife noticed it was hanging lower. Upon closer inspection, it was observed that it was hanging only by the electrical supply cord and there was about a foot gap from fixture to chain. Upon inspecting the top of the fixture, I could see the fixture loop was broken and the broken remains of the loop were caught in the cup at top of fixture. I immediately connected chain to main body of fixture and the support chain to reduce risk of falling if electric cord broke. My family of six occupies this home. Had the electric cord not supported the weight of the chandelier, this could have led to significant injury since the fixture loop completely failed.
