On the 4th of July, I cooked burgers for dinner on the gas grill, a Lowe's Master Forge gas grill. My son found several sharp shards of metal in his burger, each about 1/2 in. by 1/16 in. They were sharp and definitely metal. He found 5 or 6 total. After the grill cooled, I found that several of the cooking grates are delaminating and flaking off sharp shards of metal. Apparently, the stainless steel is just a coating that can come off. These could easily cause internal bleeding, lacerations in the mouth, or other problems if swallowed, so I feel it is important to recall this before anyone is injured. Pictures included in this report, but not of the shards. We did not think to save those.
