We have a Sunbeam heating pad that I was using normally, on my back as I was sitting on our sofa. The heating pad malfunctioned, burning a 1/2-inch hole through the cloth cover of the heating pad on the side of the pad that was not next to my body, near the end of the pad where the power cord enters. The heating pad also burned a similar hole through a throw pillow that was next to the pad.
