While using a Sunbeam electric heating pad on my lower back, I felt a sharp pain. I pulled the pad out (from between the chair and my back) and saw a bright glowing light and smoke. I unplugged the pad and put it in my shower IN CASE it burst into flames. It did not continue burning and I did not put water on it.

I have pictures but was unable to attach them.
