Second time. Kenmore range, model 790.97473805.

Was cooking French fries in oven - 375 degrees F for about 20 minutes when the glass door of the oven exploded, sending shards of hot glass flying as far as 20 feet from the oven. Took about 3 hours to clean up all the glass and it still rains glass from the door every time I touch the oven.

The first time my oven door exploded was November 2015. In that instance I found glass 37 feet from my oven. The exploded glass hit my kitchen island so hard that the glass damaged the wood finish.

The oven is subject to normal use and care. We bought expensive appliances and take exceptionally good care of them. There was absolutely no abuse of this oven.

I still own the range and use it without the danger glass. I contacted Sears and Kenmore and they were surprised about the exploding glass, acted like it was news to them, and said it would only break due to abuse
