In April of 2016, I purchased the "WBM Natural Air Purifying Himalayan Salt Lamp with Salt Chunks, Bulb and Dimmer Control, Round Basket Style" from Amazon through the seller WBM LLC; it was fulfilled by Amazon.com LLC.

A few weeks ago (March 2017) the lamp stopped working. I initially thought it was a bad bulb but new bulbs didn't work. I checked the outlet and cord, discovering the switch had a melted depression on the back. I opened the switch to find burn marks inside.

I believe these lamps are a fire hazard. Salt lamps must be left on most of the day, every day, to keep the salt dry. This means the lamps are bound to be unsupervised, making the risks of fire spreading unnoticed higher than with other kinds of lamps.

While many salt lamps sold by WBM have been recalled, Amazon is not accepting returns of this item and is still selling them despite customers reporting similar problems to the one I encountered.
