My Portfolio Chandelier (from Kichler Lighting, purchased @ Lowes) fell for the SECOND time! Out of the blue, @ 4:30 a.m. on 4/16/17 the lamp fell. The O-Ring (cast iron) from the lamp which was connected to the ceiling junction box broke, causing the lamp to fall. Lamp was off. This chandelier fell (same exact thing occurred) on 11/23/13. We weren't home when it happened. We came home to the chanderlier "resting" on our dining room table! At the time I googled info and discovered this lamp model had fallen 6 times (for 6 other people) I read it was due to a defective O-ring issue, which Kichler replaced. It was re-hung by a certified electrician and fell again on 4/16/17
