I recently purchased a new condo with new appliances. The gas range/oven included is a new Whirlpool model WFG505M0BS0. When using the oven, the ventilation duct heats the back panel of the range to a very hot temperature. I used an infrared thermometer and measured temperatures of 152 degrees F in numerous locations, as well as 194 degrees F in another location.

To clarify, when I refer to the back panel of the range, I mean the panel with the electronic controls and the back of the stove which abuts the wall.

The back panel becomes burning hot with every use, and depending on how long the oven is in use, it becomes hotter and hotter.

Additionally, there are other owners in the condominium who have the same model Whirlpool range and they are experiencing the same thing. We have contacted Whirlpool and they have sent a technician out multiple times, who reports that the oven is working within manufacturers specifications. However, it seems as though this temperature is too hot and within range to cause burns.
