I changed the grit pad on the ryobi sander. Checked to make sure it was fastened securely. Set up my bird. Plugged it in. Held the small board with my left hand and pushed the button to start it in my right hand and it started normal then started clanking and banged and threw metal and plastic everywhere I unplugged it immediately and my left hand hurt from a metal blade type thing cutting my fingers. Nothing that would need stitches but hurt terribly and had to be bandaged. Still tender from the impact. Shards all over my great room from the top blowing apart. Looked up online and saw it had been recalled for exactly this reason.
