The submitter is reporting the chairs for posing a fall hazard. The chairs were affected by recall # 17-076 and he received the remedy sometime during the summer of 2017. He said he installed the replacement bases shortly after.

The submitter was sitting on the chair when it suddenly collapsed and he fell forward. He landed on his hands and knees with the chair on top of him. He said he didn't sustain major injuries that required medical attention but he took a few minutes to get up.

He contacted the firm and reported the incident. He also sent the firm pictures of the damaged chair. The firm advised him that the chair broke, not the base and they have already fulfilled the recall for the defective base. He indicated that the metal frame above the swivel base broke and he believes the chair should be recalled.
