1. On 7/4/19 at approximately 11:45 am the fire system in our hotel detected smoke. Upon inspection there was found a CFL bulb in a wall sconce that showed signs of having melted and/or overheated resulting in smoke. The bulb in question was correctly rated in size for the fixture in question. The now-inoperable bulb was removed and replaced with the proper size bulb.
2. Today, on 9/23/19 at approximately 4:40 am the fire system in our hotel detected smoke. Upon inspection there was found a CFL bulb in a wall sconce that showed signs of having melted and/or overheated resulting in smoke. The wall sconce in question, although the same make/model as the one listed on the prior incident on 7/4/19, is a different sconce. The bulb in question was correctly rated in size for the fixture in question. The now-inoperable bulb was removed and replaced with the proper size bulb.

Comment from Caleb Holdings, Inc. 11/4/2019
At Damar Worldwide, safety is our priority and taken very seriously. Our Quality Control department has tested these lamps upon arrival and again after receiving this notification. We were not able to duplicate the issue. We did, however, notice on the pictures that were supplied that the lamp burned at the stem of the glass. This tells us that most likely, the lamp was twisted in the socket by the glass and not the base which could have caused the glass to crack which then makes the bulb inoperative. If the installation was done the same way for both instances the same results would have happened. If you have any additional questions, please call us at (800) 238-9080.
