Instant Pot
The hot air accumulated in the instant pot brand I bought last year made an inflatable and then an explosion. Although I write to the company customer care section constantly asking me photos and information. I send it but so far, no one has looked for solutions or problems have not been interested.
Incident, No Injury

Instant Brands Inc., a Canadian company located in Ottawa, Canada (“Instant Brands”) appreciated receiving this 6A report on October 21, 2019 (“Report No. 20190930-AC535-2147377389” or “report”), and the opportunity to provide a response to the Commission. As an initial matter, Instant Brands notes that the referenced product complies with all applicable industry safety standards and is not the subject of an associated recall or other corrective action.

Upon receipt of this report, Instant Brands immediately and thoroughly reviewed its business records to determine whether the customer had previously contacted Instant Brands regarding this matter. Please note that Instant Brands had already been in contact with the customer prior to receiving this report on October 21, 2019, and believed that that matter had been resolved to the customer’s satisfaction as of October 3, 2019. Specifically, the customer contacted Instant Brands regarding this matter in late September, and Instant Brands promptly reached out to the customer to request product information, such as serial number, pictures of the unit and date of purchase in an effort to provide prompt customer service.

Instant Brands also offered to replace the customer’s unit at no charge so that the customer could return his unit to Instant Brands for evaluation. As an additional customer service accommodation, Instant Brands further provided the customer with the replacement unit prior to receiving the customer’s returned unit.

Based on images and information provided by the customer, the company determined that the damage to the unit resulted from an external heat source, and was not caused by the product. The product's user manual expressly instructs users not to place the product on or near an external heat source. Accordingly, Instant Brands does not believe that the product contains a defect or presents a safety issue whatsoever.

Customer satisfaction and safety is Instant Brands’ top priority, and we encourage all our customers to contact us at any time, whether by phone, email or via our online ticket portal. Thank you again for the notification and the opportunity to provide this response.
