I was making chicken soup with an insta pot, device beeped, let pressure out. Pressure wasn’t fully released, then opened pot and liquid broth spewed out and burned about 15% of my abdomen. I had 1st and second degree burns on my stomach. This happened on Jan 26th at approximately 6:30pm

As an initial matter, Instant Brands notes that the referenced product complies with applicable standards and is not the subject of an associated recall or other corrective action. Instant Brands does not believe that the product presents a defect or quality issue, as noted below.

Upon receiving this report, we immediately searched our database for any information received from the customer. Instant Brands’ records confirmed that the customer has not contacted us regarding this matter. Importantly, we welcome the opportunity to speak to the customer at any time as it appears he may not have followed the user instructions based on his report and continues to enjoy his Instant Pot. However, the company is unable to comment on the described circumstances as it has not yet spoken with the customer, although we certainly welcome the opportunity to do so as customer satisfaction and safety are our priority.
