Our Duo 8 Qt instant Pot was in the process of warming up to make soup when I Thought I heard beeping from the other room in the house But was not positive as (I was vacuuming) As I did not expect anything to be beeping. Suddenly the vacuum went off and I heard the rapid beeping. I walked into the kitchen following the sound of the beeping and to check the plug Of the vacuum thinking it had come unplugged. At this time I saw flames coming out from under my Instant Pot and black putrid smelling smoke filling the corner of the kitchen. I instantly grabbed a kitchen towel to smother the flames, pulled the plug out of the wall and removed the instant pot to the edge of the garage to let it cool off. When I turned it upside down, the entire bottom was burnt out of the IP. I went back into the kitchen and took some pictures of the granite counter top and the cabinet showing the soot going up the cabinet and on the countertop.

When the fire started it apparently sent a surge in the plug because it blew out the plug that the vacuum was plugged into which was the next plug along that same wall.
Incident, No Injury
Still have and reported the issue to Instant Pot. There has been no resolution.
