Report Summary

The safety valve of the gas range was leaking & had to be replaced. Later, electronic ignitions started to go off & not stop until owner unplugged the range. On 1 occasion, it keep clicking away; with a puff of smoke from 1 of the burners & then then a fire surrounding dials.

  • Incident Description: About 1 year after we purchased the range, the safety valve was leaking and had to be replaced. A few weeks ago the electronic ignitions just started to go off and not stop until I unplugged the range. When I called Magtag I was told that if the burners were wet or out of place that could cause that to happen. I expressed my concerns if this happened and no one was home, what could happen! Well today, the ignitions did that again, they continued to keep clicking away. I was in the other room, by the time I got to the kitchen there was a puff of smoke from one of the burners and then then a fire surrounding the dials. This also blew the circuit breaker.
