  • Incident Description: Signature Fundraising is a company that provides fundraising services to schools. A prize for turning in a certain amount of orders is an Air Guitar. You can see it on page three of this link http://www.signaturefundraising.com/Signature_Website_2011/site_resources/prizeoverload_brochure/Default.html This toy uses a laser pointer on the bottom of the unit. There is no warning on the box about this laser. I contacted Signature Fundraising and they replied stating they have contacted the manufacturer and were told the unit does not use a laser but is like a TV remote. You can see a video of this toy in action here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3hbe_B5G-Q&feature=related You can see the laser shining on the persons hand as he is strumming the instrument. Signature Fundraising says this toy is safe but I have never seen a TV remote shoot a laser out of it. From what I understand these lasers can cause temporary blindness.
