- Incident Description: Duncan Engineers has been retained to examine a Huffy So Sweet 12-inch Girls Bicycle Model22032 Serial
Number 21812 22712Y that is manufactured by the Huffy Corporation and is under warranty. My Client
complains that this Huffy bicycle fell over when the training wheels were removed and when this bicycle is
stopped with the pedals in the vertical position. We have found that the pedals of this Huffy So Sweet 12-inch
Girls Bicycle cannot move forward under these conditions and causes this Huffy Girls Bicycle to fall over on
its side causing potential injury to the child. A label that was supplied with this Huffy Girls Bicycle requiring
the child to read an "Owners Manual" and claimed that this Owner's Manual was available at www.huffy.com.
I have repeatedly searched the huffv.com web site using variations of "So Sweet" and "Model22032" but
could not find an Owners Manual posted on that web site. A Google search showed that many people from
around the World were looking for Huffy Owners Manuals for different Huffy Bicycles but that nobody could
find one. I have repeatedly asked the Huffy Corporation to provide a hard copy of the Owners Manual for this
Huffy So Sweet 12-inch Girls Bicycle. I have also repeatedly asked the Huffy Corporation to provide any
service notes or repair information on this Huffy So Sweet 16-inch Girls Bicycle. The Huffy Corporation
responded by providing a link to a manual that was not the Owner's Manual. Despite repeated requests, the
Huffy Corporation has refused to provide any information on this Huffy bicycle. The Huffy Corporation's
failure to provide an Owners manual with each new bicycle is a violation of Chapter 19.86 RCW. The failure
of the Huffy Corporation to provide an online Owners manual as advertised on the label of this Huffy So
Sweet 12-inch Girls Bicycle is a violation of Chapter 19.86 RCW. The failure ofthe Huffy Corporation to
provide any service information to evaluate the safety ofthis Huffy So Sweet 12-inch Girls Bicycle is a
violation of Chapter 19.86 RCW. The failure of the Huffy Corporation to cooperate with our investigation into
the safety issues of this Huffy So Sweet 12-inch Girls Bicycle is a violation of Chapter 19.86 RCW. I
respectfully ask your Office to investigate any safety issues with children's bicycles that are sold by The Huffy
Corporation.
