  • Incident Description: On September 26th, 2012 my 14 month old daughter passed away do to accidental strangulation on an inner cord of the horizontal window covering that was installed in her room. Her death took place in Red Deer, Alberta Canada. The corded window covering was manufactured by Nien Made in 2007 and shipped to Canada from the United States by Home Depot. The window coverings did not have inner cord stops installed on them allowing her to pull several inches of inner cord out. She reached the inner cord from her crib which was placed to the left of the window covering.
