Report Summary

The shelving spikes are bigger than holes & several broke off . [64 YOM] I cut myself attempting to assemble the shelving. Multiple spikes broke because they don't align. Even If I can use screws to replace them it will be an extremely dangerous shelving, not holding weight.

Incident Description: ar shelving rivet 90/45 176/90x 45 made in slovania. First the packaging says " easy assembly" it is not easily assembled. There are no written instructions. only drawings. The big issues is that it takes more that one person to assembly the product. There is no indication on the packing that it takes more that one person. If the holes were properly machined, one person might be able to assemble it. The holes are not aligned are are smaller that the, since there is no written instruction, i don't know what the word is. I'll call them "spikes) they are supposed to slip over the holes and slip . The "spikes" are bigger than the holes and several broke off when using their drawings, call for a hammer. They won't slip on the holes are not machined correctly. I cut myself attempting to assemble the shelving. Multiple " spikes" broke because they don't align. Event If i can use screws to replace them it will be an extremely dangerous shelving , not holding the weight of 800 lbs they advertied. This was purchased at the Northern Tool and Equipment in Knoxville, Tennessee.
