Incident Details
  • Incident Description: 5/21/20- Order [REDACTED]: Queen sized Nectar Mattress+tax $858.36 4/23/21- Cover was removed to air dry after water spill. Tag recommends spot cleaning only but doesn’t warn against removing the cover entirely. Nectar’s website states that you can launder the cover if needed, though they recommend against removing it & advise against touching bare mattress much as it may damage mattress integrity. No mention on the website or tags that the reason for this is the fiberglass sock under the cover that can disperse large amounts of fiberglass into its surroundings. My roommate & I are now living in a space contaminated w/fiberglass, no viable mattress, a plethora of ruined clothing & belongings, & footing the cleaning bill. Nectar’s customer service has been negligent, telling us our 1yr return policy & warranty are voided, & only offering a new cover.?? Airborne fiberglass is dangerous in cases of inhalation. I have been having frequent severe nosebleeds, and I suspect that they are a result of fiberglass that escaped the mattress. Touching fiberglass can also cause injury, as the sharp filaments can become embedded in skin.
