  • Incident Description: We admitted an infant to our pediatric unit for severe malnutrition and underweight. The family was mixing formula at home using the baby brezza formula. The infant gained excellent weight while admitted and the family described that the baby brezza formula dispenser wasn't making the same type of bottles as he was getting in the hospital.

  • Baby Brezza Enterprises: We are very sorry to hear about this user’s experience and take complaints like this extremely seriously. Ensuring the Formula Pro works accurately is our #1 priority. We know from over eight years of selling the Formula Pro worldwide that the proper set-up and operation of the Formula Pro is essential to its proper operation, including accurate dispensing. We don’t know if this user followed our detailed instructions to ensure its proper set-up and use. This includes choosing the right formula setting for the formula brand/type that a user is using, cleaning the funnel after every 4 bottles and wiping the underside of the powder container after every 4 bottles. When users do this, they are delighted with the Formula Pro Advanced and call it a “lifesaver”. In fact, 91% of the 4,559 reviews on Amazon.com are 4 and 5 stars. Additionally, we have extensive testing protocols to ensure the accuracy of the product. This includes extensive QA testing on major components before the appliance leaves our factory. We also test every major formula brand/type at least once a year to ensure the formula setting is accurate and dispenses the same formula to water ratio as measured by weight as stated on the formula label. We are of course very concerned about this baby’s health and development but aren’t able to verify what’s stated in this report. This user didn’t contact our Customer Service, and wouldn’t permit his/her contact information to be released to us. Without this, we are unable to learn more about how the machine was used. Also, we don’t know anything about this baby’s overall health and development, the baby’s feeding schedule, the type of formula used, the baby’s home environment, etc. that could have contributed to the baby’s being reported as underweight. Lastly, the Formula Pro was recently sampled, reviewed and tested by the CPSC which determined that the product did not evidence a defect which created a substantial hazard or otherwise present a serious risk of injury to the public when used.
