Consumer reports that the gas range leaks gas easily because the knobs on the range are easily activated by accidental touching Brushing up against the knobs will turn them to the on position and the person is unaware. This product is unsafe and a health hazard.

  • Incident Description: Gas leak due to knobs bumped into on position but before activating auto on electric spark. Came home to the entire kitchen smelling like gas. Dogs where in the house while we were out shopping. Kitchen aid slide in 6 burner gas cooktop. Model KCGC506JSS. Thankfully no injuries but this happens often with the slightest touch of the knob. Causing repeated leaks. A short internet search seems to show its a common problem. There is even a reported solution of using rubber grommets to increase the force required to push in then turn knob.
