Incident Description: My 6 year old daughter was wearing Speedo swim goggles Sunny G brand (age group 3-8 year old type). She was swimming and her sister and her bumped heads underwater. The sharp hard plastic (sunglasses shape) with a sharp thin edge..made from polycarbonate made a deep incision approximately 1/2 from my daughters left eye. The opening in her skin required immediate medical attention and was irritated, closed with a Medical strength derma bond glue. She required steroids for her eye and oral antibiotics to prevent infection from the deep wound. I believe if she was wearing a standard pair of swim goggles this would not have happened. Due to the sharp thin hard plastic edges on these sunglass style swim goggles it caused this injury.
