  • Incident Description: I am an RN who monitors newborn weight/growth. I have had two infants in the past 8 months, one 2 months old, other 5 months old that were having slow weight gain, sometimes weight loss. Determined cause was the baby brezza. Was using incorrect settings. It is far to easy for parents to use the incorrect setting if they do not read instructions fully. Fortunately, these two infants did not develop electrolyte imbalance which could happen.

  • Baby Brezza Enterprises: We are sorry to hear about the concerns expressed with the Baby Brezza Formula Pro Advanced. We fully stand behind our product and its accuracy. Based on our years of experience selling the Formula Pro, we’ve found that most issues occur because all of the set-up and operating instructions are not followed completely, which the person who filed this complaint acknowledged. We highlight the need to follow these set-up and usage instructions on the package, in the instruction manual, and on the machine itself to ensure parents use the product correctly. These critical directions include 1) including looking up the specific setting for your brand/type of formula on our website, 2) cleaning the mixing funnel after every 4 bottles and 3) keeping the powder above the Min line in the powder container. As the complainant stated in the report, the parents who used the Formula Pro Advanced were using the “incorrect settings” because they didn’t read the instructions fully. It’s also unclear whether these parents followed the other set-up, operating and cleaning instructions fully. If all of the instructions are not followed, the machine will not perform properly and make accurate bottles. We have reached out to the complainant to better understand both situations and hopefully be put in touch with the parents to better understand how they used the machine.
