Incident Details
  • Incident Description: I have a Maytag Gemini double gas 30" oven... about 2 months ago, it started turning on by itself and heating up to 350 or 375... out of the blue it will just automatically turn on at any time. I am the only owner as I bought it new from LOWES. After I figured out what was happening, I tried to do a reset where you unplug it for about 10 minutes and plug it back in, but it started doing it again about 3 days later. I don't use is a lot, but it shouldn't do it at all. I'm told it's a problem with the control board, keypad, but it looks very clean inside and no burns. I cannot use my oven now for anything because I had to turn off the gas to it. I have also tried to leave it unplugged for a long period of time and then plugging it back in with the gas off, but it still tries to turn itself on. This seems to be a huge potential for a fire to happen and it should be recalled in my opinion model.. MGR6875ADS
