Incident Description: My husband and I have been sleeping on the Vibe Gel Memory Foam Mattress (purchased from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Vibe-12-Inch-Memory-Foam-Mattress/dp/B074ND75P9/ref=sr_1_5?crid=1FFB4WDAJF3Y&keywords=vibe%2Bfoam%2Bmattress&qid=1705866926&sprefix=vibe%2Bfoam%2B%2Caps%2C114&sr=8-5&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.18630bbb-fcbb-42f8-9767-857e17e03685&th=1) for about 6 months. We started to notice we were waking up with sinus irritation that didn't improve much with a humidifier or other measures. Then, our cat began having severe asthma flare ups and breathing fits. We investigated and discovered that this mattress has been leaking fiberglass all over. Fiberglass particles are imbedded in every sheet and blanket we own, imbedded in the carpet, and contaminating the air we breathe, causing the asthma flares and illness. The original mattress cover is completely intact and undisturbed, it should be able to hold the fiberglass in but it does not. This is extremely hazardous and has had drastic implications for our health and the health of our pets. This mattress has been used only as usual and has been well taken care of. The protective cover has never been removed as per product guidelines. In addition, nowhere in the product listing or information does this company disclose the use of fiberglass. This mattress is advertised using the CentriPUR-US label, which leads consumers to falsely believe that this product is safe and free from hazardous materials.
