Report Summary

53 YOF consumer's hose became very large while she was washing car. She began to run away and hose exploded with a very loud sound. She had almost ruptured ear and headache. She was lucky to not have ear permanently damaged. She visited doctor for treatment.

  • Incident Description: Brand new hose just opened... I was washing my car & sat the hose down for a moment to retrieve the soap. The hose started inflating & got very large & long fast and I started to run away & then it exploded damaging my ear drum. It was so loud that the neighbor across the road come running out & over to me asking if I was ok. I couldn't hear for several minutes then my ear continued to ring for about 20 minutes & I developed a severe headache and earache. Went to my Dr the next day at 3p.m. & he said my right ear (inside) was badly bruised & was very close to rupturing. He said I was lucky it didnt... I had noticed blood on my [REDACTED] earlier that morning as well..I am still dealing with ear pain & a bad headache & off balance today. Will take up to 3 weeks for my ear to heal
