Incident Details
  • Incident Description: I started using the babybrezza mini to combo feed my baby. I used the setting on the Babybrezza website for my formula ([REDACTED]- setting 4) and did not think to calibrate/ verify the amount of formula added by the machine is accurate. 2 days ago was when I started only formula feeding my baby and noticed that she drank more milk than usual and was very fussy due to the numerous diaper changes. Using the Babybrezza's instructions to check the formula vs water dispensed, I used clingfilm to separate the wet from dry compartment of the funnel and weighed the formula. For a 2oz bottle, the machine only dispensed 4g of formula when 1 scoop per [REDACTED] is 8.5g. I manually scooped and weighed the formula by hand and got to 8g as well. I retested the machine numerous times and got the same 4g result each time. The machine was purchased brand new and we only started using it after we got back from the hospital on 5/15. It is dangerous to significantly dilute formula and could have far more serious consequences.
