Report Summary

CX reported a sample diaper was used on their 2MOF baby. Shortly after, their baby cried in pain for 2 hrs. They went to the ER where a Dr determined the diaper caused a chemical burn irritation to genital & inner thigh areas. After switching back diapers, no further issues.

Incident Description: I used a sample Millie Moon diaper on my baby. The diaper appeared soft, well-made, and fit properly. Within a short time, my baby began crying in pain for approximately two hours. We went to the emergency room, where an exam and urine test ruled out infection. The physician determined the diaper caused a chemical burn-type irritation across the entire area it contacted. My baby has no sensitive skin, allergies, or prior rash history. We have had no issues with other brands such as [REDACTED]. This was an isolated and severe reaction, consistent with chemical or material irritation. This incident caused significant pain and distress and may indicate a safety issue with the materials or manufacturing of these diapers. Severe skin redness and chemical burntype irritation across the genital and inner thigh area. Infant experienced intense pain and continuous crying. We have since switched back to [REDACTED] diapers with no further issues. As a medical provider, I am concerned that other infants may experience similar injuries and believe this product should be investigated.
