Report Summary

A gel-filled squishy toy ruptured/burst open & the gel got on consumer's 12 YOF child's stomach & legs. The child had a burning sensation & her exposed skin discolored. They rinsed/washed the area (received first aid). This incident caused a skin injury/chemical burn.

  • Product Description: Gel-filled squishy fidget toy (NeeDoh-style sensory toy) used by a child during normal play. The toy is soft and squeezable and contains a gel/liquid substance inside. The product ruptured during use and released the gel onto the childs skin, causing a burning reaction and skin discoloration (white/pale areas) on contact. The product appears to be a childrens/sensory fidget toy. I am attaching photos of the product

  • Incident Description: My 12-year-old child was using a NeeDoh-style squishy toy (gel-filled fidget toy) during normal play when the toy ruptured/burst open. The gel/liquid inside the toy got on her stomach and legs. She immediately reported a burning sensation, and the exposed skin became discolored/turned white in the areas where the substance contacted her skin. We rinsed/washed the area right away and contacted Poison Control. Poison Control advised the product contents included polyvinyl alcohol. This incident caused a skin injury/chemical-burn-type reaction. I am reporting this as a product safety concern involving a childrens toy.
