48 YO consumer's TV was turned on and a loud pop was heard. Consumer restarted it and another loud pop was heard, then flames came from out the back of TV in 2 spots for 2 seconds. It was immediately unplugged. No injuries.

Incident Description: Last night, we turned on our Samsung TV and heard a loud pop. When we turned it on a second time, we heard another loud pop, then flames came from out the back of the TV in two spots for about 2 seconds. We immediately unplugged it, removed it from the wall, put it in the center of an open room and got a fire extinguisher handy. After a few hours, additional fire risk is gone. The TV has had permanent vertical lines on the left side of the display for approximately one year, but it has otherwise been functional. This is incredibly concerning. I am grateful it happened when I was using it and not a child so I could take appropriate measures. We own two other similar Samsung TVs and are wondering if we need to get rid of them. What's next?
