Incident Details
- Incident Description: I bought the Zinus green tea mattress May 21 2020. It's promoted on Amazon as a best seller, and no where in the listing did it say fiberglass, it came with a flimsy cover with a zipper, just inviting users to open them up. I did not open it up, but 2 years in, due to the bottom fabric being the same stuff you find airplane materials made out of, the fire sock made of fiberglass released hundreds of thousands of particles into my home. There is a class action lawsuit, Zinus won't honor my warranty, Amazon won't rerfund me, I have an ENDOSCOPY because of stomach iriitstion from this. They cut costs by using the legally allowed fife sock, but they DO NOT encapsulate it properly, they have done no recalls, they are fully aware of the issues, but they just prefer to make money by selling high volume cheap. [REDACTED] zinus ginerglass, it's been a nightmare for me. Had to throw away clothing, rugs, blankets that were sentimental from my grandmother, i've had breathing issues the last year, gastro issues, eye issues, i even started sleeping pills and now i know it's because i would get so stuffy from the glass fibers in my air, even worse any time i vaccumed the tint shards would basically get even smaller and become aerosol, now invisible in my air as well as visible when i search, but when i looked under my bed last week i was horrified and have been in remediation mode with unknown health consequences. They save money by using the fiberglass BUT WHY ARE THERE NO RULES FOR ENCAPSULATING? A woven fabric WILL weaken over time if as you use the bed and move its constantly creating shards that then escape either when unzipped or even if not they just bleed through. I'm telling you it looked like i had glitter under my bed. It's the ZINUS GREEN TEA MATTRESS a best seller on Amazon but look at the 1 star reviews, they wouldn't allow mine which had video [REDACTED] there is a class action, why are you guys not requiring a protective cover fully encapsulated with a polymer? These people have eco friendly and all this green washing on the product and it never said fiberglass on the sales pages at all, no warning, had a zipper, etc
