Incident Details
- Incident Description: I open the refrigerator door to place a covered bowl of food on the lower level in the back.
After I did, so, I stood up. At that moment, I bang my head on the freezer door handle. I experienced head pain, neck, pain, and back pain.
I had already bumped my head twice before in the same manner with pain, but I felt I could get over it with [REDACTED].
This time the pain was more intense, so I sat down I laid down, felt very tired.
I then decided that I better call my primary doctor.
I called the office and was told there are no appointments available until September 6 or September 9. I don’t recall which date.
I was advised that I should go to urgent care or the emergency room I said I could not drive. it was suggested to me that they do a video call and I said I’ll do that. They scheduled a video call for [REDACTED] o’clock. I logged on my chart with an headache and was connected at [REDACTED] PM. but no one connected with me until [REDACTED] PM.
I was told I could not be diagnosed over the phone and that I needed to go to urgent care or the emergency room. I felt tired and had no energy which is not like me. I took [REDACTED] and melatonin, and went to bed. when I woke up in the morning, I still felt off-balance, headachy, neck and shoulder stiffness. I thought I should get checked out, so I drove to urgent care which was a mile from me. urgent care talk to me and told me I needed to go to the emergency room which was about 2 miles.. since it was early in the morning I drove and I took the back roads. At the emergency room I was seen by five different medical staff. I was diagnosed with a concussion and neck spasms. I was told I should get a CAT scan, which I was against as I had read that these scans contribute to cancer. [REDACTED] advised me to get the cat scan to rule out brain trauma because of my symptoms.
