Incident Description:   I received a Fragrant Jewels Candle as a gift. The candle had been lit this morning for about an hour when my husband blew it out. A few moments later he went to put the lid on the candle and the top part of the candle exploded into pieces. The lid did not explode, it was the glass part that holds the candle that exploded. The lid he tried to put on the candle came with candle when it was new.

Incident Description:   I purchased a large jar candle from Yankee Candle in May 2015. I used the candle in my living room on my brand new coffee table with a table runner under the candle. I trimmed the wick and used the "safe candle" instructions suggested by Yankee. I was cleaning the next day and i was dusting my coffee table and tried to remove the table runner and the candle from the table and the runner had melted to my table. Incident Description:   I have a Chesapeake Bay 19oz 2-wick candle, the exact model name is 2-Wick 19oz Jar Candle Jasmine Bouquet - Home Scents by Chesapeake Bay Candle. It has only burned about 25% down, there is about 75% of the candle remaining. While the candle was burning, the glass cracked on the rim of the jar. The candle was purchased from Target in March 2023, and is not one of the candles listed in the recall from that time period.

Incident Description:   A flared and candle burned out of control. The home owner moved the candle to her sink and attempted to extinguish the candle with water. The flames reached the ceiling when the home owner applied water to the candle. The home owner called the fire department. Fire fighters responded and extinguished the candle. There were no injuries.

Incident Description:   Several years ago I purchased three Voluspa glass container scented candles at Villagio Inn & Spa in Yountville, CA. Incident Description:   Caller stated that while his spouse was removing the lid from the candle the glass jar shattered. No injuries was sustained from the incident Caller contacted the company and was advised that since they used the lid to close the jar while the candle was still lit the heat caused the jar to expand which caused the incident. Caller stated that he has used candle jars which was much thicker than this jar. He feels that this jar is a safety hazard and should be recalled.

Incident Description:   LANGLEY EMPIRE CANDLE EXPLODED AND THREW GLASS AND HOT WAX EVERYWHERE. THE CANDLE WAS PURCHASED AT KOHL'S LAST WEEK. Business Comments:  The consumer neglected to mention her use history and has not contacted the manufacturer as of January 27, 2015. This particular jar is used in hundreds of thousands of candles every year and we have never heard of an "exploding candle" when the product is used properly. Investigation of any issues with any of our candles has always concluded in misuse or negligence by the consumer. Our products are held to the highest standard of testing and processing. Incident Description:   A couple citizens that bought candles at Fred Myers stopped by the fire station. They had purchased and used CANDLE-LITE candles. Apparently, they let the candle burn down to the base and the container blew up and left a scorch mark on the surface it was sitting in.
